All about the role
As a Senior Business Analyst - Grocery & Retail, you will be at the forefront of using data to drive our Grocery & Retail (G&R) presence in Just Eat Takeaway’s German market, Lieferando. This dynamic, hands-on role involves deep cross-functional collaboration with Commercial, Marketing, and Operations teams. You will play a central role in our G&R growth journey—from creating a data-driven strategy to driving trade and optimizing operational excellence for our most exciting new verticals and strategic partnerships.
These are some of the key ingredients to the role
* Lead Analytics Strategy: Lead grocery & retail analytics for Germany, understanding business needs and shaping the roadmap to create high-impact analytics solutions and data products.
* Technical Execution: Monitor business dynamics and perform deep-dive analysis on our top accounts and strategic initiatives using SQL and advanced analytics to guide "test and learn" commercial strategies.
* Stakeholder Influence: Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior management and partners, effectively communicating complex data insights in a clear, persuasive, and concise manner.
* Mentorship: Act as a lead figure by coaching and mentoring other data professionals within the team, cultivating a collaborative, high-performing, and agile environment.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the wider Country Analytics team to design metrics, build automated reports, and conduct analysis using Tableau, Python, and Google BigQuery.
What will you bring to the table?
* Proven Analytics Expertise: 4+ years of experience in commercial or sales analytics, with specific expertise in the grocery, quick commerce, or retail industry.
* Strategic Problem Solving: Ability to translate vague business questions into technical data roadmaps, thinking critically to anticipate challenges and develop proactive, actionable insights.
* Narrative Mastery: Demonstrated ability to build persuasive, data-driven narratives for executive-level audiences and present concepts with confidence to senior leaders and external clients.
* Technical Proficiency: Strong SQL skills for independent data extraction and analysis, alongside expertise in visualizing trends and building reports in Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
* Advanced Methodology: Practical experience applying advanced analytics (e.g., causal inference or regression) to measure business initiatives, paired with professional fluency in English & German.
* Inquisitive Mindset: An intellectually curious and proactive approach, comfortable navigating ambiguity within a fast-paced, evolving environment.
