About the Job We’re looking for an experienced Platform Team Leader - Software (m/f/d) to join one of our clients and lead its Engineering strategies. In your day-to-day work, you’ll focus on streamlining the deployment, testing, and production-readiness of our autonomous robotic systems and have the opportunity to contribute to various projects that bridge the gap between software, operations, and end users. This is a shaping role in a pioneering German dual- use technology company that develops unmanned ground vehicles for both defence and commercial applications. You’ll be working with a highly innovative, international, and dynamic team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of automation and robotics, with a clear emphasis on operational resilience and modernisation. In this role, you’ll: Act as the subject matter expert on radio communications, including setup, configuration, and best practices within our robotic platforms Define and document deployment procedures to ensure seamless operation and integration for both teams and customers Serve as the key technical liaison between the software engineering team and customer-facing teams, translating field feedback into technical improvements Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers specializing in testing, cybersecurity, DevOps, and production Oversee the bring-up and production-readiness of our robots in close coordination with hardware and software teams Continuously improve the processes and tools required for scaling production of our autonomous systems Drive and coordinate certification efforts to meet cybersecurity and quality compliance standards Ensure the overall platform meets both internal and external regulatory requirements Your Profile Solid background in field robotics, defence, or critical infrastructure systems with practical deployment experience in production environments Proven experience in leading technical teams in robotics, embedded systems, or complex mechatronic environments Strong expertise in configuring and troubleshooting embedded or robotic systems, including flashing firmware and system integration In-depth knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, serial, and wireless, as well as LTE/4G/5G, Starlink, tactical radios, and secure networking (VPNs) Proficiency in Linux environments, including using command-line tools for system deployment, monitoring, and debugging Excellent organizational and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams Programming skills in C++ and experience with ROS are considered a plus, along with familiarity with certification processes Excellent communication skills in English is a must. Please note that we are looking for support in the Munich office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
