About the DWS Internship
The DWS Internship offers a unique and exciting opportunity to gain a wide range of practical experiences through individual projects, speaker sessions and networking events. With strong support from mentors and managers, you will be challenged to grow while gaining valuable insights into the world of Asset Management. About the Team
Join a global team of around 40 professionals in Liquid Investment Risk and dive into the world of financial risk management with real impact. As an intern, you’ll work on exciting projects like daily risk monitoring, and data analysis using tools like Aladdin Explore—especially if you bring strong programming skills to the table. It’s a chance to learn how to connect the dots in complex financial systems, build your network, and grow in a team that’s passionate about understanding what could go wrong before it does.
As our DWS Intern, you will:
1. Support the investment Risk Management department with daily risk analytics oversight for globally managed funds
2. Perform risk assessment analysis across several asset classes, strategies for the entire fund range
3. Review risk models and in-depth analysis of model parameters and updates
4. Support the Risk Management department in global and local projects
5. Review risk results and risk profiles with Senior Risk Managers and Head of Risk
6. Work closely with investment specialists, analysts and risk colleagues from across the globe (Luxembourg, Berlin, London, Hong Kong, New York, etc.)
The Team is looking for:
7. Advanced English language skills, German language skills are beneficial but not required
8. Student in the field of economics, quantitative finance, mathematics, or a related subject
9. Good knowledge of the financial markets, asset management or risk management are considered an advantage
10. Familiarity with financial instruments (e.g. equity, fixed income, financial derivatives, etc.)
11. Experience with software programs (e.g. SQL, Python, VBA)
12. Good analytical skills and the ability to work independently
13. Excellent Microsoft Office skills
14. Eligibility based on the eligibility criteria
Eligibility Criteria
15. Advanced English language skills; German language skills are beneficial but not required
16. Currently studying for a bachelor's or master's degree and in your penultimate or final year of study, OR on a gap year between your bachelor's and masters degree
17. Less than 12 months of full-time relevant work experience (excluding internships)
18. Availability for a full-time 6 month internship; see start date for more details
Start Date
Risk Management Internships in Germany are exactly 6 months long. You must be available for this entire duration.
We offer the following intakes:
19. Spring: 1st February or 16th February 2026 for 6 months
20. Fall: 1st July or 16th July for 6 months
