Job Title: Junior Professional Officer Analyst (gn) Research
In order to assess the eligibility of the candidates, we review the relevant experience acquired after obtaining the first university degree (usually bachelor's degree)
OCE consists of a team of approximately 15 economists, analysts and assistants. OCE is responsible for research on critical economic issues relevant to the transition region and EBRD operations, macroeconomic analysis in support of country work, and relations with academia. The Analyst, Research ("the Analyst") reports to the Director, Research or the Director, Transition Impact & Global Economics. The Analyst provides research assistance to OCE economists by preparing and analysing large data sets using a variety of econometric techniques; and summarising and reporting on key research findings. The Analyst also contributes to the preparation, running and analysis of the core surveys conducted by OCE either independently or under the supervision of OCE economists. The Analyst may also be involved in OCE's macroeconomic forecasting and analysis, as reported on in the Regional Economic Prospects.
The Analyst works under the general direction of the Director of Research or Director of Transition Impact Global Economics;
# The Analyst works on multiple projects individually or as part of teams that typically consist of 1-2 economists and analysts;
# The Analysts contributes to the analysis and write up of economic briefings to EBRD senior management on a wide variety of economic topics pertinent to the strategy of the Bank;
# The Analyst manages large databases and statistical models used for analysing data;
# The Analyst provides economists with technical support;
# The Analyst develops, in cooperation with other economists and Directors, survey instruments and empirical research designs;
# The Analyst has no formal reports.
Manage and analyse on a day-to-day basis large-scale data sets in OCE;
# Assist with the analysis of data for several long-term research projects as well as OCE publications such as the annual Transition Report;
# Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including a strong knowledge of Excel and Stata and/or R.
# Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
