A leading independent European financial advisory platform is expanding its Frankfurt office and is seeking an experienced Investment Banking Vice President to support continued growth across German-speaking markets and cross-border transactions.
The role sits within a collaborative mid-market advisory team focused on M&A, strategic advisory, and capital raising across multiple sectors including industrials, business services, consumer, and technology-enabled companies.
This is a hands-on execution role with client exposure, leadership responsibilities, and clear progression potential.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Execution
Lead day-to-day execution of sell-side and buy-side M&A mandates
Manage financial modelling, valuation analyses, and deal structuring
Coordinate due diligence processes and external advisors
Prepare and review marketing materials (teasers, IMs, management presentations)
Oversee data room management and investor communication
Drive transaction timelines and ensure deal momentum
Client Interaction
Act as a primary contact for clients during live transactions
Participate in management meetings and negotiation processes
Support senior bankers in strategic discussions and pitching situations
Translate complex financial analysis into clear client recommendations
Business Development
Contribute to origination efforts and pitch preparation
Identify potential buyers, investors, and strategic partners
Build relationships with private equity funds, corporates, and lenders
Support sector coverage initiatives and market research
Team Leadership
Supervise and mentor Associates and Analysts
Review work product and ensure quality standards
Help build a high-performance team culture
Candidate Profile
5–8+ years of investment banking, M&A advisory, or transaction services experience
Strong exposure to mid-market transactions (€50m – €500m EV preferred)
Demonstrated deal execution experience from pitch to closing
Experience working with private equity clients is advantageous
Advanced financial modelling and valuation (DCF, LBO, trading/transaction comps)
Strong accounting understanding and commercial judgement
Excellent PowerPoint and presentation capabilities
Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
Entrepreneurial mindset and ownership mentality
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to operate in a lean, high-responsibility environment
Fluent German and English required
