Hauptaufgaben
Serves as the supervisor for the supply and services section of the directorate of logistics for the 598th Transportation Brigade, encompassing a multitude of subordinate battalions and detachments that are dispersed throughout Europe. Position is the technical supply, maintenance, contracting expert on all related matters with requirements to brief and enforce logistical and administrative guidance that is disseminated from the Brigade S4 director. Provides technical advice to the Director, Property Book Officer, HQ staff, activity directors, and customers on matters pertaining to supply program management functions such as requirements determination, provisioning cataloging, inventory control, contracting and accounting requisitioning, receipt, storage, issue and disposal.
General Supply Specialist functions: Provides leadership, direction,and enforces professional work ethics and environment amongst all 2 subordinate employees. Ensures that a discipline work performance and productivity is strictly enforced and remains loyal to mission accomplishment. Enforces Command supply Discipline by enforcing conservation of supply use and ensures that subordinate employees with access to government property and spending capability understands the importance of supply discipline and their limitations on requisitioning without prior approval.
Serves as the Maintenance Officer and enforces standards outlined in the Command Maintenance Discipline Program (CMDP) by providing staff supervision of materiel maintenance operations within the organization.
Conducts cyclic and special site inventories of property and equipment. Investigates losses, damages and other situations requiring inventory adjustments and reconciliation and report's findings to the Brigade S4 Director. Personally prepares or ensures the preparation of relief from responsibility documentation to account for missing or destroyed property. Plans, coordinates, and directs the storage, distribution, and redistribution of material to ensure equitable distribution of assets within established limitations and program requirements. Instructs customers on proper actions related to lost, damaged, or destroyed property. Submits budget estimates for supply needs of the Brigade S4 and Property Book Office, and presents alternate recommendations as necessary to the Brigade S4 Director.
Reviews and evaluates all brigade equipment requirements and authorizations to include equipment and ensures consistency with assigned missions, and functions. Controls authorized resources and actual utilization and initiates necessary changes to meet mission and functional requirements. Develops, formulates and interprets supply policies and procedures and provides recommendations concerning approval/disapproval of reports submitted. Organizes and participates in S4 meetings and provides input on recommended changes/revisions to established procedures that are being discussed. Reviews and approves pertinent reports prior to submitting to the S4 Director. Exercises staff supervision over and provide technical policy guidance on all organizational supply related matters. Develops and implements plans, policies, and programs and executes the 598th Transportation Brigade's logistical - organizational supply mission. Develops and implements internal supply and equipment management policy and procedures for internal controls and serves as action officer. Acts as technical advisor on all matters concerning the supply status and requirements and authorizations of TDA equipment. Formulates standing operating procedures and other instructions in German and English language required to insure understanding of procedures by organizational elements. Assists in computation and formulation of equipment requirements.
Plans, directs, and controls the work of 5 subordinate employees engaged in maintaining and managing warehouse operations, requisitioning supplies and equipment, property books, registers and files, preparation of reports, editing of requests, etc. to insure output is of an acceptable quality and quantity. Defines standards for performance of work and prepares and issues internal instructions and procedures for its accomplishment. Recommends recruitment, promotion or reassignment of subordinates, makes formal appraisals of their work performance, and determines training needs for all levels of subordinate supervisors and workers. Provides on-the-job training and assures that subordinates understand and correctly apply guidance.

E&T Level I: 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 3 years of experience as defined in B below.
Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below.
E&T Level II: 1 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 3 years of experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level III: 2 years of creditable experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level IV: 1 year of creditable experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level V: No additional experience required.
Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.
C-6a:
E&T Level I: 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 4 years of experience as defined in B below.

C-7:
E&T Level I: 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 5 years of experience as defined in B below.
Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below.
E&T Level II: 1 year of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 5 years of experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level III: 4 years of creditable experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level IV: 3 years of creditable experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level V: 2 years of creditable experience as defined in B below.
Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.
Experience A: Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.
Experience B: Experience in the same or similar line of work as the job for which considered. The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required in the position. The predominant experience must have been gained at a comparable level of difficulty to the position to be filled. The amount of the higher level experience must be in a reasonable relation to the required total number of years.
• Office Automation skills required.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL:
English Language Proficiency Level AND German Language Proficiency Level C1 required.

Position may be filled at the C-6, 6a or at the full performance level, C-07. The incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the next higher or full performance level in accordance with regulatory requirements, upon completion of required training, and recommendation of supervisor.
