About the team and the role:
The Search Ranking and Monetization Team is the biggest contributor to eBay’s advertising program and drives a significant portion of revenue. We are growing at a rapid pace and committed to building a stellar team. We are a team where people who do things differently and win are rewarded and grow. What you will accomplish:
1. Drive the search monetization technical vision by incorporating and developing software engineering processes and standards to enhance eBay’s buying experience.
2. Collaborate with scientists and product managers to deploy complex yet scalable core algorithmic logic.
3. Create robust data pipelines and real-time monitoring and optimization algorithms.
What you will bring:
4. 4+ years of software design and development experience, solid foundation in computer science with strong proficiencies in data structures, functional programming, algorithms, OOPs, and Software Design
5. Experience in designing and operating big data processing pipelines, such as: Hadoop, Spark, Hive, ETL
6. 3+ years of software development experience in building large scale Web Services and Backend Applications using Java, C++, Scala, and related technologies
7. Background or interest in mathematics or machine learning
8. Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, and influencing skills
9. Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent professional experience, with 9+ years of experience,
10. Masters degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent professional experience, with 7+ years of experience.
