We are seeking a stellar Special Operations Strength and Conditioning Specialistthat willestablishand administer effective strength and conditioning protocols designed to maximize the physical performance of SOF personnel, with the priority on SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

1. Demonstrate and provide instruction and guidance on physical training, exercises, movements, and injury avoidance.

2. Design, administer, evaluate, and document the effects of physical training protocolsfor SOF personnel in garrison,TDY/TAD, or deployment, under the supervision of the HP program manager and/or coordinator.

3. Coordinate training programs with the HP staff to ensure a safe andexpeditiousreturn to training of SOF personnel recovering from injury. 

4. Refer all personnel withan apparentnew or undiagnosed medical condition to a medical provider for evaluation and treatment. 

5. Communicate and collaborate with sports medicine professionals and/or bridge coordinator to ensure a smooth transition from rehabilitation toperformance basedactivities. Will also collaborate with mental performance and performance nutrition to ensurea holistic approachto human performance.

6. Assist the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator in developing facility standard operating procedures, guidelines, and training protocols including the safe use of strength and conditioning equipment. 

7. Participate in periodic meetings to review and evaluate physical training programs andidentifyopportunities for improvement. If a meeting occurs outside of regular workinghours-unableto attend a meeting,theSCSis responsible forreviewing the informationdisseminatedin meetings.

8. Participate in periodic in-service training for members of the HP staff and/or POTFF staff asappropriate. 

9. Attend required trainingin accordance withguiding instructions. Commands will allow attendance at the necessary conferences or courses to complete the continuing education unitsrequiredtomaintainprofessional certifications. 

10. Perform administrative duties such asmaintainingrecords ofutilization, workload, conducting orparticipatingin education programs, andparticipatingin clinical staff quality assurance functions. 

11. Develop andpromulgatetraining materials as requested and required by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator. 

12. Assistwith supply inventories and provide inputregardingsupply needs for the HP program. 

13. Proficientlyutilizecomputers, software, and technologies asrequiredand requested by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator and required by USSOCOM HQ and its POTFF staff.

14. Maintain 100% compliance with local mandatory command training requirements.

15. Advisethe chain of command and/or HP program manager and/or coordinator on strength and conditioning, administrative matters,purchasing ofsupplies and equipment, and supplemental fiscal requests.

Required Education/Experience/Skills/Training: 

16. Position requires U.S. Citizenship.

17. Must have a DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

18. Bachelor’s Degree in an accredited exercise science, health science, or physical education-related discipline.

19. Possess andmaintaincurrent certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or the Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa).Maintenanceof one of these certifications shall be an enduring element of the requirement.

20. Minimum of 5 years or more of demonstrable accumulated experience (continuous and sustained experience preferred) of developing long and short-range planning and coordination of sport/mission specific performance programs resulting in attributable results with individual athletes and groups of athletes at the levels of NCAACollegiate, Olympic, professionalsports, and/or SOF Operators in the accompanying, respective settings. Paid, full-time experience as a government civilian or contract employee at United States Combat Arms, Air Force Special Warfare, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) communities may be counted towards minimum qualification requirements, provided this experience was gained within the most recent, continuous 3 years, as a directly-embedded staff member, on-site with the respective Army, Navy, Air Force and/or Marine Corps entities.

21. Fluent oral and written communication skills in English. 

22. Current certification in basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)to includeAutomated External Defibrillator (AED) training.

23. Physicalproficiencytodemonstrateall prescribed exercises / techniques and to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments. 

24. Must be able to lift and manipulate loadsand weights up to 25 kilograms.

Desired Education/Experience/Skills/Training: 

25. Priormilitary and/or SOF experience. 

26. Master's degree in an accredited exercise science, health science, or physical education-related discipline.

27. Mustcomply withSafety, Health and Environmental plan,policiesand procedures. 

28. Mustcomply withthe Quality Assurance plan,policiesand procedures. 

29. Mustmaintainregular and acceptable attendance. 

30. Responsible for completing all required training. 

31. Perform other assignments andduties,asrequired.
