SciNova are exclusively partnered with an international Biotech scale-up who're developing pioneering immunology solutions to tackle some of the worlds most challenging rare diseases. This is a newly created position we are searching for a Patient Engagement Director to play a crucial role in shaping the company’s external engagement with patients, KOL's, policymakers, and advocacy groups. You will work collaboratively across departments to ensure that patient perspectives are at the core of all strategic decisions and policy initiatives are aligned with the needs of those affected by a broad range of rare diseases.
Role responsibilities :
* You will develop and executive strategies related to patient engagement that will improve our clients overall understanding of patient needs, and promote the voice of selected communities.
* Influence public policy and healthcare systems / institutions to improve access to relevant treatments and advance policy initiatives that benefit patients.
* Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including patient advocacy organisations, government agencies, and healthcare providers.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including clinical development, regulatory, and commercial teams, to ensure patient-centric approaches in every phase of development.
* Identify opportunities for advocacy campaigns and public policy actions that align with company goals and patient needs.
* Monitor and interpret legislative, regulatory, and policy developments related to relevant rare diseases and advocate for policies that improve treatment access and support.
Role requirements :
* MSc + in a Scientific related discipline.
* 8+ years of experience working in a patient services-related position (engagement, advocacy, public policy development etc.).
* Pharmaceutical and / or Biotech industry SME (rare disease therapeutic experience desirable).
* Proven track record of successful collaboration with patient organisation, external agencies, regulatory bodies, and government stakeholders / institutions.
* Strong understanding of the rare disease landscape, including challenges in treatment access, diagnosis, and healthcare systems.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Fluency in German and English.
