Your challenge As a Junior Test Engineer (all genders), you will be at the core of validating the next generation of electric vehicle charging technology. Your challenge is to support the setup, execution, and analysis of conformance and interoperability tests between electric vehicles (EVs) and charging infrastructure (EVSE) across AC and DC standards. You will work hands-on in a fast-paced test environment, configuring test benches, capturing communication traces, and performing protocol analysis using industry tools. A key part of the role is understanding and applying international standards such as ISO 15118, IEC 61851, and OCPP to identify and document interoperability issues between vehicles and charging stations. Success in this position requires strong analytical thinking, precision in test execution, and a passion for clean mobility technologies. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers, OEMs, and technology partners to help ensure reliable, standards-compliant, and user-friendly charging experiences in real-world conditions. Configure and maintain test benches, instrumentation, and communication analysis tools (e.g., CANoe, Wireshark, or protocol analyzers). Capture, decode, and evaluate communication traces based on ISO 15118, IEC 61851, and related charging standards. Assist in identifying, reproducing, and reporting interoperability issues between EVs and charging infrastructure. Contribute to test case development and improvement of internal test procedures. Collaborate with senior test engineers and project partners to ensure accurate test execution and data reporting. Support post-test analysis and preparation of technical reports and summaries for OEM and infrastructure partners. Your Profile You have an education in the technical field, e.g. as an Electrical engineer or equivalent training including practical experience You are interested in a deep understanding of charging equipment and the relevant protocols to connect them to EVs and the corresponding backend system You accept the challenge to setup something new You are passionate to improve the overall quality of the charging process You have first knowloedge in ISO15118 and its in writing protocols.
