Your Role
We are seeking a motivated EHS Specialist that can facilitate the integration process of the EssilorLuxottica Group EHS management systems in the Barberini GmbH plant and implement the EssilorLuxottica Group EHS guidelines and directives in the Barberini GmbH plant, in line with what has been agreed with the relevant EHS Manager.
Main Responsibilities
1. Monitor and report EHS performance using EssilorLuxottica management systems, including injuries, near misses, first aid cases, and unsafe actions/conditions.
2. Maintain and continuously update general and specific risk assessments in compliance with local legislation.
3. Participate in root cause analyses (5W) related to incidents, near misses, and first aid cases.
4. Support EHS coordination meetings and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (Barberini GmbH, Schott AG, and Corporate EHS).
5. Conduct EHS inspections within production departments and ensure follow-up of action plans.
6. Collect and manage EHS KPIs and dashboards, including reporting through Gensuite and presentation at factory-level meetings.
7. Manage chemical safety activities, including MSDS updates and the introduction of new chemical products in compliance with group procedures.
8. Coordinate PPE selection, distribution, and compliance according to risk assessments and safety requirements.
9. Support environmental data collection and reporting (waste, energy, water, emissions) in collaboration with environmental managers.
10. Promote continuous improvement initiatives by identifying, reporting, and sharing EHS preventive and improvement actions at local and global level.
PORTRAIT OF A PERFECT CANDIDATE
11. Good knowledge of SAP and excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
12. Strong knowledge of German health, safety, and environmental legislation.
13. Familiarity with reporting tools for Near Misses, First Aid, Unsafe Actions, and Unsafe Conditions.
14. Knowledge of occupational health, environmental, and energy management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001).
15. Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
16. Degree in Health, Safety, Environmental, Mechanical, or related engineering disciplines (according to country-specific regulations).
17. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and suppliers from different countries and cultures.
18. Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset.
19. Ability to assess risks, manage priorities, and handle complex situations.
20. Proactive attitude and sense of responsibility in carrying out assigned activities.
