Job Summary This individual will lead test engineering in supporting other development groups in Ennovi by guiding, planning, and coordinating global laboratory resources and equipment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working on Product Development Concurrent Engineering Teams, responsible to meet program timelines, and enjoy developing products that combine mechanical, electrical, and electronic technologies that depend on a high degree of electro-mechanical reliability test skill level. Main Responsibilities Provide the leadership for the resourcing, planning, and capability development within EPD and Ennovi global reliability test and validation. Work with the product development group to support coordination of program validation requirements. Develop global resource management plans and test planning & scheduling. Create global CAPEX and test capability / equipment upgrade requirements. Expand global test engineer knowledge of required test methods and equipment operations for core and local testing. Participating in and/or leading concurrent engineering teams. For some projects maintaining project schedules, action lists, facilitating team meetings, communicating with Suppliers and other functional disciplines, and communicating with Customer technical counter-parts. Adhering to IATF-16949 Quality Plan procedures. Assisting with creation of standardized DVP&R validation plans, coordinating validation testing, standardizing and reviewing reports. Training/assisting less experienced engineers regarding technologies, engineering tools, project management. Be the Global point of contact in relations to test and validation of CCA product line. Partner with the product management team to guide product line strategy for customer-based validation testing (both internal & external). Other Specification This role will require about 10% traveling domestically and some international travel. Flexible schedule is required to balance communication and partnerships in different time zones and globally. Primary office will be in Heilbronn Germany. Qualifications & Skills BSME or BMME (or equivalent) with min 10 years automotive experience as it relates to connectors, power and/or electric vehicle pack system design and test experience. Terminal/contact/beam science: materials, contact physics, plating, mating/un-mating forces PCB/ECU housing applications, complex lead frames. Connector systems such as stackable/modular constructions, polarization techniques, environmental sealing, hybrid combined signal/power connector designs, cable shielding, extreme temperature, vibration and shock. Terminal designs such as: Low voltage electrical and electronic signal challenges (examples: Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS), Ethernet, USB technologies, EMI shielding requirements), IDC connections. High power systems up to 30kW, understanding safety requirements. Work experience in the connector business including standard connector and system test specifications, methods, and equipment. Experience with DFMEA, DFM, GD&T, statistical tolerance analysis, 6 sigma, 8D problem solving. Working knowledge of testing for high power, interconnect devices, and environmental requirements. Understanding of necessary test methods including IEC, UL, DIN and ISO specifications for testing and evaluating automotive products. Experience developing HALT/HASS/FMVT test protocols and procedures specific to electrical test. Microsoft Office software experience: MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint. Familiar with automotive Product Development processes. Prefer APQP and IATF-16949 QMS experience. Knowledge of typical automotive environmental and reliability requirements. Knowledge of Battery packs and Energy systems is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Extensive knowledge and experience in reliability testing, and resource planning and development including materials, test equipment, test specifications, program management, and engineering leadership. Operations and manufacturing background a plus.
