Job Description
We are on the lookout for a Senior/Staff Product Designer to join the Navigation domain at the Merchandising Tribe on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.
Be part of redefining how customers experience quick commerce. You’ll help build technology that scales our non-food offerings, reaching new market segments and driving revenue growth. By innovating within our Quick Commerce Team, you’ll make Delivery Hero the go-to platform for a broad range of products, helping us grow faster and deliver more value to customers around the world.
QC Merchandising Tribe: We build the core quick commerce systems that power fast and automated product listing, deliver complete and high-quality product information, standardize navigation across shops and personalize in-shop discovery, so customers can find the right products faster and at the right time. To deliver on our mission, we focus on two core, interconnected strategic pillars: Item Management and Item Navigation.
As a Staff Product Designer, you are a master of your craft, leading design and impact across undefined problem spaces within the Item Navigation domain. You will help power the catalog browsing experience by delivering all merchandising data in a fast and reliable way, while providing the most relevant, personalized, and effective item ranking for every customer.
1. Strategic Partnership Expert: You will form a powerful triad with your dedicated Senior Product Managers and Engineering Leads for Ranking and Navigation teams. You'll immerse yourself in the strategies of collaborating domains (Content, Assortment, Promotions) to deeply understand how features like Category Trees, Variants, and promotions function and impact the customer experience, ensuring our ranking and navigation solutions create a cohesive and intuitive journey.
2. Systems Designer: You will work directly within a cross-functional team of data scientists, data engineers, and ML engineers. You must be comfortable engaging in technical discussions about ranking models, data pipelines, and system logic, translating complex algorithmic capabilities and constraints into seamless, user-centered experiences. Your designs could influence the system's behavior, not just the user interface.
3. Federated Design Leader: You will act as a crucial design connector to our global platform teams. Your role is to build strong relationships with their designers and UX researchers, creating a collaborative ecosystem for knowledge sharing. You will establish best practices for implementing and testing our central ranking solutions, ensuring a consistent user experience philosophy while respecting local platform nuances.
4. Discovery & Validation Scientist: You will thrive in our culture of continuous, large-scale experimentation. You will partner closely with Product Analytics and Data Science to design, launch, and analyze experiments, uncovering deep patterns in user behavior. Your primary goal is to translate quantitative data and experiment results into actionable insights and superior design solutions that improve item discovery.
5. Holistic Experience Strategist: You will be responsible for the end-to-end item discovery experience, from the highest-level navigation to the final ranking of products on the digital shelf, for all of our global entities. You'll use service blueprints and journey maps to visualize how our central ranking systems interact with various platform UIs and other domain services, championing a unified and intelligent customer experience across all touchpoints.
6. UX Communication Expert: You are a great storyteller, capable of articulating a clear vision and compelling rationale for design decisions related to complex, often "invisible" systems like ranking. You will create highly persuasive deliverables that align technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams and leadership, ensuring everyone understands the "why" behind the user experience.
Qualifications
7. Extensive experience designing and shipping data-rich products for mobile applications and web, with a portfolio that demonstrates your work on complex systems like personalization, search, or recommendation engines.
8. Proven ability to work in a highly technical environment, collaborating effectively with data science and engineering teams on products powered by machine learning or complex algorithms.
9. A strong grasp of quantitative data and experimentation (A/B testing), with experience turning analytical insights into strategic design decisions.
10. Ability to lead through influence, build consensus across distributed teams, and drive design practices through narrative and rigor.
11. A portfolio demonstrating your user-centered design approach, systems thinking, problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail is required.
12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English.
Nice to Have
13. Experience in e-commerce, q-commerce, or marketplace environments (B2B - B2C).
14. Direct experience designing for ranking, personalization, or search algorithms.
15. Familiarity with B2B tooling for assortment and content management.
