About the Role

KG Organization Transformation of Industry Business Unit Compression Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your Day As IGC Senior Development Engineer you will be responsible to drive Integrally Geared Compressor (IGC) core design development as a Subject Matter Expert within Siemens Energy’s Compression business. This involves maintaining and improving quality, costs and robustness within core markets (Air Separation, PTA) as well as driving innovation to position Siemens Energy’s Integrally Geared Compressor Product Line in emerging markets (CCUS, LDES, decarbonized heat etc.).How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Develop and optimize design solutions for new and existing IGC Core Product.
2. Design to meet functional, cost, aerodynamic, vibration, stress/life, manufacturability, and assembly requirements.
3. Lead or participate in product and component cost-improvement initiatives.
4. Present at technical review gates and represent the product line at international technical conferences; prepare design reports and prepare and maintain design standards.
5. Apply strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
6. Utilize CAD and 3D modeling tools effectively.
What You Bring
7. Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
8. 10+ years of specialized experience in integrally geared compressors, with strong involvement in R&D projects and product improvement initiatives.
9. Hands-on expertise with IGC core compressor components, including pinions, bull gears, rotors, volute casings, labyrinth seals, and IGVs, with in-depth knowledge of their design, performance, and manufacturing processes.
10. Proficiency in advanced CAD and PLM tools, particularly NX and Teamcenter, JIRA and familiarity with SAP for engineering-related workflows.
11. Skilled in applying engineering calculations, finite element analysis, and problem-solving methods to optimize mechanical systems.
12. High initiative, motivation, and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global, multicultural environment.
