Cyber Defense Lead (m/w/d)
Job Description
1. Act as the primary point of contact for our MDR provider:
- Manage daily operations, escalations, and service delivery
- Review, triage, and validate alerts and incidents
- Drive continuous improvement in detection and response
2. Develop and maintain SOC processes, runbooks, and playbooks
3. Perform initial incident analysis, containment coordination, and handover to IT or business stakeholders
4. Lead post-incident reviews and lessons-learned exercises
5. Manage and tune SIEM/SOAR use cases and integrations
6. Establish KPIs, reporting, and metrics for SOC effectiveness
7. Collaborate with IT, OT, and business teams to strengthen monitoring coverage
8. Support the CISO in roadmap development for an in-house SOC capability
9. Mentor and train future SOC analysts as the team expands
Job Requirements
10. 5+ years of experience in Security Operations, Cyber Defense, or Incident Response
11. Proven experience working with MDR/SOC providers
12. Strong knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, and Vulnerability management solutions
13. Hands-on experience in investigating and responding to security incidents
14. Solid understanding of attack techniques (MITRE ATT&CK), threat intelligence, and defense strategies
15. Ability to write/run detection rules and create operational playbooks
16. Excellent communication skills in German and English
