Comstruct is building the agentic workforce for procurement in European construction. Our agents turn paper delivery notes, fragmented invoices and offline supplier decisions into structured, real-time data and live decisions, embedded inside the largest contractors in Europe and the US. We recently secured a €12.5M seed financing round from prestigious VCs, including 20VC and Google Ventures, along with top European investors. We are looking for a talented and driven full-time Senior Software Engineer to join our Core team. You’ll play a pivotal role in expanding and scaling our Integrations platform, and help it morph into comstruct’s Data Processing system. This means expanding our scope to own the ingestion, processing, and integration of all critical data, including invoices and external ERP systems. You will be a key technical leader in this transformation. Your first major project will be to help design and lead the rewrite of our delivery note ingestion pipeline, moving us to a modern, asynchronous, queue-based architecture that can scale with our ambitions. As a hybrid company, we value in-person collaboration and expect employees to work from our Munich office 3 days a week. What you will do ️ Lead systems design: Drive the technical design and implementation of our new, asynchronous data processing platform. Build data pipelines: Develop and scale the systems that ingest and process data from diverse sources (emails, APIs, portals) and integrate with external systems (ERPs). Own data extraction: Take ownership of our data extraction services, including our existing LLM-based solutions, and help improve and scale them. Expand team ownership: Help the team take on new responsibilities, such as invoice processing and ownership of our public API, to create a unified approach to data processing. Provide technical leadership: Act as a senior technical voice on the team. You'll contribute to high-quality design, provide insightful code reviews, and informally mentor other engineers. Improve existing systems: Assess and improve the architecture, reliability, and performance of our current integration services. What you need to succeed ✨ Experience: 5 years of professional experience building and maintaining complex, mission-critical software products. Strong Engineering Fundamentals: Proven experience in a modern, high-level programming language (e.g., Python, Kotlin, TypeScript, Java, C#). We prioritize strong software engineering fundamentals, systems design skills, and the ability to learn over deep knowledge of one specific language. Mindset: A self-driven and proactive attitude. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and can take complex problems from concept to solution. Environment: Experience working in a startup or a similarly fast-paced product environment. Product Focus: A strong focus on building solutions that solve customer problems. Communication: Fluent in English (German is a plus). Nice to have: Asynchronous Systems: Experience designing and building message-driven, queue-based systems (e.g., Google Cloud Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ). Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP (AWS or Azure is also valuable). Data & ML: Interest or experience in data-intensive applications, data extraction, or applying LLMs. Web Scraping: Familiarity with web scraping tools and techniques (e.g., Selenium). API Design: Experience building and maintaining public-facing APIs. How are we setting you up for success Shape your career path: We give you the freedom to own your work and build something from the ground up Support and mentoring from our engineering mentors via our network with Google Ventures and 20VC, early access to latest LLMs and SDKs for experimentation Own a piece of the pie: We offer equity options so you're a true owner, sharing directly in the success you help create on top of a competitive salary You'll have a dedicated development budget to invest in your skills, from certificates to conferences so you can grow with the company Relocation support to help you feel at home in Munich And of course top notch hardware, any AI productivity tools you need, daily dinner options, wellpass subscriptions and yearly offsites (the last ones were in Mallorca and Italy).
