At Alpine Eagle, we are a team of specialists with backgrounds in defence, aerospace engineering and machine learning, building the first airborne, swarm-based system to provide protection against the rising drone threat. As the Head of Sensor Systems, you will be instrumental in advancing our drone technology. You will lead and inspire our perception group and be part of Alpine Eagle’s leadership team. You will be hands-on, develop and optimize algorithms, drive the perception architecture, and collaborate with other teams to deliver next-generation drone solutions.
How you will make an impact:
* Drive and own the perception strategy and development roadmap: Derive perception milestones from company objectives, establish a systematic development process and be responsible for the timely delivery of new capabilities.
* Lead and develop a group of Computer Vision and Sensor Fusion Specialists: Lead by example and create an environment in which high-performing individuals can thrive.
* Design algorithms and architectures: Develop computer vision algorithms and architectures for drone-based applications such as object detection and real-time tracking.
* Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest advancements in computer vision technologies and research, with a special focus on aerial and C-UAS applications.
* Code reviews and documentation: Participate in code reviews and foster a culture of clean code and thorough documentation.
What you need to be successful:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field. PhD is a plus.
* Proven experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or equivalent. Experience with CNNs, Object Detectors and Tracking.
* Strong proficiency in Python and C++.
* Experience with OpenCV or other computer vision libraries.
* Prior experience in leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment is a strong plus.
* A hands-on attitude and strong sense of ownership.
* You approach complex problems systematically and document your results.
* You are a team player. You win when the team wins.
