Your Role
* Integrate multi-omics data and enhance workflow efficiency
* Develop and apply machine learning-based algorithms for identifying antibiotics-associated proteins and antimicrobial peptides
* Perform and support experimental studies across the METAMIC project, including metagenomic sequencing of field study samples from clinical or environmental use cases
* Apply improved workflows in field studies
METAMIC Project Overview
The METAMIC project embeds Doctoral Candidates in a unique training environment to advance microbiome science through metaproteomics. This program addresses One Health challenges by integrating research on microbial mechanisms, microbiome dynamics, and translational applications in clinical and biotech fields.
Requirements
* Bachelor's, Master's, Diploma, or equivalent degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, systems biology, biology, or similar
* Experience in structural and functional protein annotation (sequence homology- or protein structure-based)
* Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX-based operating systems and shared compute infrastructure
* Proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages for data analysis
* Strong proficiency in scientific English; German and/or French are an advantage
* Willingsness to spend several months at other institutions abroad
