Your Impact Guide and support the design of advanced photonic and electro-optical components for Ciscou2019s optical transmission platforms, emphasizing modelling and simulation as well as measurement and analytical insights. Define and execute experimental evaluations, including optical and opto-electrical component characterization, setup definition, and measurement procedure development to ensure optimal system performance. Lead feasibility studies and collaborate closely with internal teams, industry partners, and academic research groups to accelerate innovation. Validate compliance and performance of optical components, serving as a subject matter expert during product bring-up and integration. Make your mark by enabling the delivery of industry-leading solutions that power global connectivity and next-generation network infrastructure. Minimum Qualifications Masteru2019s degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field Minimum 4 years of professional experience in optical design, development, and validation Proven expertise in optical measurement techniques and photonic design Demonstrated ability to characterize optical and opto-electrical components, including setup definition and measurement procedure development Experience with optical transmission theory and simulation, as well as analogue circuit design Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical field Demonstrated experience leading feasibility studies and joint development projects with industry or academic partners Background in customer-focused product development Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Proven ability to drive innovation and collaborate effectively in international, cross-functional teams Why Cisco?
