Your impact
* As Head of Business Development (f/m/d), shape and develop the strategic direction of the Business Unit in close cooperation with the BU CEO and leadership team.
* Lead a team of professionals to enable growth and new business by analyzing and developing new asset classes and business models, and supporting go-to-market efforts (origination, market approach, and strategy, digitalization tools).
* Support the business and segments to drive investment and portfolio strategies.
* Oversee the BU's strategic planning process, including market/competitor analysis and opportunity screening, and manage key strategic initiatives.
* Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders (partners, co-investors, advisors) and internal stakeholders (Industrial Businesses, Strategy, Sustainability, Technology) to ensure alignment.
* Drive effective people management within teams using various methods/tools.
* Take an active leadership role within the EQ leadership team to shape the future and drive transformation of SFS EQ; orchestrate and prepare key transformation initiatives and meetings for the EQ BU.
Your success factors
Education – University degree or equivalent in Business Administration (or similar) with understanding of minority equity investments, M&A, and project finance structures. MBA is a plus.
Experience & Skills – Minimum 8 years of experience with an operational track record in financing/investment processes, ideally in a captive environment. Strong knowledge in strategy/business development, strategic planning in financial services, and go-to-market. Deep knowledge of Sustainability Business (Energy Transition, Critical Materials, Transportation, Digital Infrastructure). Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, mobilize resources, and manage change. External market experience in stakeholder management, market trends, and commercial arrangements in fast-developing markets.
Ways of working – Ability to motivate and lead a team to high performance; professional communication with international senior management; use insights to influence stakeholders with compelling business cases. Experience in international, matrix environments and with international, virtual teams. Travel ~10%.
Languages – Proficiency in English and German in addition to your native language.
