Your Job:
1. Design and development of an in-house X-ray beamline for long term operando investigation of chemical hydrogen storage reactors
2. Unravelling of relationships between catalyst structure and morphology with its performance (reactivity, selectivity, efficiency) and degradation under realistic long term deployment conditions
3. Coordination and execution of in-house beam times
4. Collaboration with other groups, in particular at INW
5. Extended visits to synchrotron facilities (DESY, ESRF)
6. Participation in international conferences (including presenting your research results)
7. Preparation of scientific publications and project reports
8. Support in establishing the institute
Your Profile:
9. Master`s degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related discipline
10. Extensive knowledge of X-ray methods
11. Knowledge of X-ray optics
12. Knowledge of synchrotron science
13. Knowledge of catalysis and energy storage
14. Experience with programming languages (ideally Python), SPS controls system
15. Fluent in written and spoken English
16. Very independent and self-motivated way of working but also excellent teamwork skills
17. High motivation to take on responsibility and develop own research ideas
18. Willingness for regular business trips

The position is for a fixed term of 3 years, with possible long-term prospects. Pay in line with 75% of pay group 13 of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service (TVöD-Bund) and additionally 60 % of a monthly salary as special payment („Christmas bonus“).
