The Application Scientist Imaging & AI enables AIu2011centric product innovation by collecting and contextualizing imaging data and workflows, validating AIu2011supported imaging concepts through handsu2011on experimentation, and contributing to crossu2011functional concept development with Application Management, Product Management, and R&D. This position is limited to one year and located at the EMBL Leica Imaging Center in Heidelberg This position reports to the Manager Product Management Software and is part of the global Leica Life Science Research Product & Innovation Management Team located in Wetzlar and Mannheim and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Collect highu2011quality samples, Images, groundu2011truth data, and representative imaging workflows across multiple lightu2011microscopy technologies Capture, analyze, and contextualize endu2011tou2011end imaging workflows to inform AIu2011centric product innovation Validate & Test AIu2011supported imaging workflows and early prototypes through handsu2011on experimental imaging Contribute to concept studies by translating application insights into actionable input for AIu2011enabled solutions Collaborate closely with Application Management, Product Management, and R&D within a crossu2011functional innovation environment The essential requirements of the job include: Advanced degree (Masteru2019s degree, PhD, or equivalent) in life sciences, bioengineering, or a related scientific discipline Handsu2011on experience working with confocal and widefield lightu2011microscopy systems, as well as additional microscopy modalities, in a research or applied setting Demonstrated experience in designing, executing, and documenting experimental imaging workflows Practical experience curating, organizing, and working with complex imagingu2011related datasets using computeru2011based tools and systems Experience collaborating in crossu2011functional product, application, or R&D environments supporting technology or product development It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Supporting imaging workflows and applications, for example through work in a microscopic imaging facility or a comparable applied imaging environment Leica Microsystems, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives.
