The Position Within Roche Information Solutions (RIS), Data, Analytics & Research, you will be part of an international, interdisciplinary community shaping the future of digital healthcare. The Integrated Clinical Product Domain Chapter leverages cutting-edge data science, data engineering, AI, and cloud technologies to improve clinical decision-making, optimize workflows, and drive the development of high-quality digital medical products. Our work includes building scalable data architectures, providing secure, reusable data services, and developing innovative, data-driven capabilities for products such as the navify® Clinical Hub. As a Senior Software Engineer / Data Lead (m/f/d), you will act as the key interface between product and platform teams. You will own the data architecture, ensure integration, quality, and governance, and use your technical expertise to drive innovation. In doing so, you will work with the RIS Data Fabric – a unified, scalable architecture enabling secure and reusable data and technology solutions. Your Key Responsibilities * Take ownership of data architecture and delivery within product teams – including integration, privacy, data quality, and insights. * Develop differentiating features for our digital healthcare products by leveraging engineering and AI expertise. * Design and implement cloud-native data pipelines and services, using and extending data platform capabilities. * Align product requirements with horizontal engineering efforts and Data Fabric components (e.g., shared services, governance tools). * Collaborate with technical leads to optimize data structures, observability, and delivery of key data assets. * Ensure smooth cooperation with architecture, data and software engineering teams. * Closely collaborate with business product manager to understand customer needs, and to develop and communicate the product vision and roadmap * Mentor colleagues, share best practices, and promote high-quality data development across the company. Your Profile * Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Development, or a related field. * Experience in developing and integrating data-driven solutions over a period of 6-8 years (bachelor's degree), 5-7 years (master's degree), or 3-5 years (PhD), ideally in the healthcare or medtech environment. * Strong expertise in cloud technologies, data architecture, governance, and modern data engineering practices. * Experience with AI-powered data analysis, metadata management, and semantic data layers. * Proven ability to bridge complex technical concepts between product and platform teams. * Strong analytical and conceptual skills, self-motivation, and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration. This position can be based in Penzberg (Germany) or Sant Cugat (Spain).
