Our client is a Multi-national Semiconductor designer, who are looking for an experienced engineering professional to join their team in Munich to work as a hardware design architect, focusing on Automotive microcontroller technology.
Responsibilities:
* Define and develop micro-architectures for next-generation Automotive Microcontrollers, focusing on:
* Embedded Audio Subsystems: Including Voice Detection, Noise Cancellation, and Audio Interfaces
* Communication Subsystems: Such as Ethernet, CAN, and FlexRay
* Memory Subsystems: Including Flash, SRAM, RRAM, and external DDR memory
* Collaborate with senior architects and RTL design teams to evaluate new ideas, enhance existing designs, and drive architectural innovation
* Analyze automotive and embedded workloads to identify performance or power inefficiencies and propose architectural improvements
* Engage with a cross-functional and geographically distributed team, requiring strong communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
* 10+ years of experience in digital micro-architecture design, with deep expertise in at least one of the following areas:
* Signal processing
* Automotive communication protocols
* CPU subsystem architecture (e.g., memory design, bus infrastructure)
* Hands-on experience with embedded CPU architectures such as Arm Cortex, ARC, or RISC-V, and interconnect standards like AHB/AXI
* Solid understanding of Functional Safety and Cybersecurity standards (e.g., ISO 26262, ISO 21434)
* Proficiency in digital design using HDLs such as Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog
* Programming experience in C/C++ and scripting in Perl or Python
* Familiarity with performance benchmarks and workload profiling in embedded systems
