WHAT WE ARE LOOKING for
In the Data & AI team, we ensure that data and knowledge are not lost, but found. You will help us keep our data landscape structured, accessible, and secure. Your focus will be on maintaining the data catalog and configuring structures and permissions in our business intelligence tool, so that teams can quickly find reliable information. We are currently seeking a full-time employee (12-20 hours per week) to join our team in Rostock.
YOUR FUTURE FIELD OF JOB
* Data Catalog: You keep our metadata (descriptions, owners, tags/glossary) up to date, maintain field descriptions and simple models, and ensure that our data objects (schemas, tables, attributes), data quality notes, classifications, and categorizations are clearly documented and easily findable.
* Business Intelligence: You will structure our BI environment, maintain folder and collection structures, and assign groups and permissions precisely so that teams can access the right information quickly and securely. You will also support our migration projects.
* Governance & Standards: You will work on naming conventions, role and rights models, and documentation standards.
* Enablement & Support: You support colleagues with short guides and how-tos and are the first point of contact for questions about reports, access rights or data structures.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
You are a registered student (Bachelor's or Master's) and interested in data, systems, and structures. In addition to traditional IT degree programs, we expressly welcome applications from related fields – the main thing is that you are data-savvy and eager to learn. Furthermore, you possess the following additional characteristics:
* You work in a structured and careful manner, enjoy bringing order to complex topics, and don't lose sight of the big picture even in the details.
* You are communicative and service-oriented in your dealings with other teams.
* You have a basic understanding of data protection and handle sensitive information responsibly.
* Nice to have (you can learn a lot about this with us): initial experience with SQL, BI tools (e.g. Metabase, Power BI) or basic knowledge of data governance, role models or metadata management.
