ABOUT THE TEAM & THE ROLE
As a Director of Engineering in the Inspiration and Entertainment Platform team, you will lead a talented group of front end and back end engineers to design and implement scalable, secure systems that power our platform. Working closely with the Directors of Product Management and Applied Science, you will align engineering efforts with product vision, AI driven customer experiences, and data driven insights to create innovative and impactful solutions.
You will be joining the largest fashion and lifestyle ecosystem in Europe. This role offers a unique opportunity to bring innovative digital experiences to Europe, and contribute to shaping the future of the fashion and entertainment platform. The role requires a strong experience in international collaboration and technology innovation, adding critical capabilities to work with international teams while exploring classic and emerging technologies to push the boundaries of what''s possible in a rapidly evolving landscape.

* Highly accomplished software engineer with extensive experience, deep technical expertise, and proven leadership skills.
* Strong back end development experience with a solid understanding of front end systems.
* Demonstrated expertise in building scalable systems and platform capabilities.
* Experience integrating AI technologies and algorithms, particularly in content related systems.
* Previous experience in e commerce or social gaming environments is a plus.
* Exceptional architectural and design abilities, particularly with microservices and event driven systems.
* Proven track record of evolving software engineering practices and enhancing productivity across engineering teams.
* Strong engineering and people management experience, leading teams of 15+ engineers and researchers.
* Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
* Experience managing large, complex, time sensitive projects, with a focus on operating business critical systems in content and entertainment.
* Proven ability to define and execute a clear vision and strategy.
* Strong leadership experience with a history of developing talent, managing large, distributed teams, and fostering a collaborative decision making environment.
* Experience working closely with Product teams, with product management experience being an advantage.
* Facilitate technical collaboration and alignment with our engineering teams in China, understanding and adapting to the specific technical and market requirements of the Chinese e commerce environment.
* Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
* Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) is preferred, enabling clear communication and seamless collaboration with our teams based in China.
