Experienced Postdoctoral Researcher – Solid State Quantum Optics

The Semiconductor Nanostructures and Quantum Systems (SNQS) group at the Walter Schottky Institute of the Technical University of Munich (Prof. J. J. Finley) expect to appoint an experienced postdoctoral researcher in Fall (with flexible starting date).
We are looking for an innovative experimentalist (m / w /d) with an established research track record and interest in one of the following fields:
• Solid state quantum information science.
• Quantum optical properties solid-state systems (e.g. semiconductor quantum dots, colour centers in wice gap insulators or 2D-materials and their heterostructures).
• Quantum sensing, including low-temperature scanning NV magnetometry.
• Strong correlation and many-body phenomena in 2D-quantum materials.
• Advanced CW and femtosecond optical spectroscopy methods.
Preference will be given to candidates who already have some postdoctoral experience, but applications from recently graduated PhDs with an excellent track record of achievements will also be considered. The SNQS group performs research funded by diverse sources including the German Science Foundation (DFG), the Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), the European Commission and the European Research Council (ERC). Moreover, the group are actively involved in Munich Quantum Valley and the clusters of excellence MCQST and e-conversion. Successful candidates will be strongly encouraged to join ongoing local, national and international collaborations with leading theoretical and experimental researchers and contribute to shaping new research directions.
Remuneration will be according to TV-L equivalent (full-time) depending on qualifications and experience The position is initially limited to 3 years with the possibility for continued employment e.g. working towards Habilitation qualification.
