Responsibilities:
1. Simulation and layout of mechanical seals for gases and liquids
2. Structural analysis and strength assessment of components using FEM, including dynamic and thermal simulations
3. Integration of modern methods of artificial intelligence (e.g. machine learning, deep learning, LLM) for the further development of simulation models and the analysis of simulation and test data
4. Development and maintenance of automated simulation workflows and calculation tools
5. Interpretation and presentation of simulation results to support decision-making in the product development process
Qualifications:
6. Completed studies (doctorate / PhD welcome) in mechanical engineering / process engineering / physics / technical mathematics, computational engineering or similar fields
7. Solid foundational knowledge in the fields of engineering mechanics, structural mechanics, thermodynamics, machine elements and materials science, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer
8. Knowledge of finite element analysis and the use of corresponding tools (e.g. Ansys, Abaqus)
9. Experience in applying artificial intelligence methods, especially in relation to physical systems (e.g. surrogate models, data-driven simulation, reinforcement learning)
10. Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, .NET, or similar
11. Very good German skills (at least C1) as well as good English skills, both written and spoken
12. Professional experience desired
