The Requirements: For your internship at Kia Europe you need to be enrolled during the whole internship period in an European Union University. Furthermore, you need a valid visa and an unrestricted permit to work in Germany. We recommend completing a six-month internship with us, as this gives you sufficient time to learn about Kia Europe and familiarize yourself with your topic. Your mission: As an Intern in Vehicle Safety & Technical Investigations, you will work cross-functionally across two key teams in EASO – Technical Investigations and Campaign Execution. Your main focus will be to support the evaluation of potential safety-related cases and to assist in the technical preparation and execution of field actions such as recalls and service actions. Main responsibilities: Technical Investigations Support Assist in the analysis of safety-related field cases and incident data. Support root cause investigations in collaboration with R&D, factories, and the European Quality Center. Help create structured technical reports that form the basis for critical safety decisions (recalls, service actions, etc.). Conduct benchmarking and research on technical solutions and case trends. Campaign Execution Support Assist in the technical preparation and rollout of field campaigns (e.g., TSBs, recalls, service actions). Support coordination with stakeholders including national authorities, logistics, and aftersales operations. Monitor campaign performance, particularly completion rates and parts availability. Prepare and update documentation for internal/external reporting and regulatory communication. Cross-Functional Involvement Contribute to risk assessments in accordance with ISO 26262 and other relevant safety standards. Collaborate with cyber security experts and compliance teams to ensure holistic case assessment. Assist in continuous process improvement initiatives within EASO. Your talents: Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical field. Skills: Strong interest in vehicle safety, quality assurance, and technical root cause analysis. Structured and analytical mindset with hands-on problem-solving skills. Basic understanding of automotive systems and vehicle architecture (ECUs, diagnostics, etc.). Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with data tools or DTC analysis tools is a plus. Fluent in English; German or Korean is a plus but not required.
