For over 35 years, the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology in Berlin has stood for excellence in production science. We are dedicated to bridging the gap between science and practice in the field of industrial production and offer application-oriented system solutions for the entire spectrum of industrial tasks – from product development to the production process, maintenance of capital goods, and recycling of products to the design and management of factory operations.
In the Virtual Product Creation business unit at Fraunhofer IPK, we develop innovative approaches for model-based systems engineering (MBSE). Our focus is on optimizing development processes, the semantic mapping of product information, and the integration of MBSE into end-to-end product lifecycle management (PLM). The Intelligent Networking department addresses the design of integrated value creation systems for virtual product development across the entire life cycle, as well as data-consistent product systems, by designing suitable methods, processes, organizations, IT systems, and data and information models.
What you will do
* Support in the development and implementation of software projects and information architectures
* Modeling and implementation of knowledge graphs and ontologies for technical environments (including digital twins and data centers)
* Development and implementation of reasoning processes for knowledge graphs and ontologies
* Integration and automation of data flows using LLM technologies
* Contribution to continuing education topics on model and data integration
What you bring to the table
* Studies in computer science, business informatics, data science, information technology in mechanical engineering, production engineering, industrial engineering, or a comparable field in software development
* Good German or English skills
* Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, Java, C++) and interface programming (REST API and RESTful Services)
* Initial experience with LLM and ML technologies
* Ability to work in a team, communication skills, ability to work independently, and willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics
Advantageous, but not essential:

The remuneration is based on the overall company agreement for the employment of auxiliary staff.
The position is initially limited to one year.
The monthly working hours are 80 hours.
