A Day in the Life
The External Reporting EMEA team provides services for several key financial processes, including statutory reporting and corporate tax, as well as audit coordination. It serves a wide range of countries in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region and is constantly expanding its scope of operations. To be successful in this role, you will need in-depth knowledge and experience in the field of statutory reporting and corporate income tax returns, preferably in accordance with the requirements of various auditors and tax authorities, but at least in accordance with the German requirements. You are a team player with a hands-on mentality. They are results-oriented, quality-conscious, solve complex problems and operate in a matrix organization with strong communication skills and a high degree of accuracy.
This position covers the regions - Meerbusch (DE) or Heerlen (NL) and is therefore a remote position, i.e. in the field and with customers on site. Meetings may require your presence at the Medtronic office from time to time.
Responsibilities include as follows:
* Preparation of annual financial statements, audits, statutory filings and tax returns for German companies and other jurisdictions
* Translating financial documents from US GAAP to HGB
* Coordinating work with colleagues, stakeholders and service providers,
* Accounting and reporting on corporate income tax for corporate purposes
* Preparation of financial reports for the local board meetings
Required knowledge and experience:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in auditing or accounting (preferably from a German university)
* At least 6 years of relevant professional experience in accounting or auditing, including German
* Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
