Intro suena, short for sustainable energy applications, is a green tech startup specializing on energy trading software for Energy Storage Systems. The focus lies on maximizing profits and reducing risks on short-term electricity and balancing markets for grid-scale energy storage asset owners through our AI-based optimization and trading software.
As a Financial Controller / Finance Operations Manager (f/m/x) at suena, you will play a key role in driving our financial performance, reporting, and strategic planning. You will work closely with the CFO and our finance assistant to build and optimize robust financial processes, ensure legal compliance, and provide valuable insights for data-driven decisions. As we scale up, we need someone with a strong financial operations background, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to guide and support both internal and external financial stakeholders. We expect you to maintain a regular presence in our Hamburg office, while also taking advantage of hybrid work options.
What you will be doing:
* Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Support audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
* Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Planning: Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic decision-making.
* Process & Systems Optimization: Implement and enhance financial controls, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
* Cash Flow & Liquidity Management: Oversee cash planning and liquidity. Coordinate payment runs and account reconciliations.
* Audit & Tax Coordination: Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate reporting and compliance.
* Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with our CFO and with various departments to provide financial insights and support business initiatives. Work with internal teams, banks, tax advisors, and auditors. Support funding and grant reporting as needed.
Requirements:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
* Experience: 3+ years of experience in financial controlling or accounting, preferably within the energy sector and a fast-paced startup environment.
* Skills: Solid experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and modeling, including cost control, liquidity planning, and use of financial software, ERP systems, MS Office.
* Language: Fluent in German (C1/C2 level) and proficient in English.
* Strong analytical mindset: ability to analyze complex data, with a solid grasp of financial management principles and exceptional Excel skills.
* Reliability and proactiveness: highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven, with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to manage tasks independently in a dynamic startup environment.
* Knowedge of HGB, and compliance topics is a plus.
