Role Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Senior Accountant to join a dynamic EMEA finance team. This is a pivotal role with a broad scope, providing essential accounting and financial reporting support for diverse corporate development entities across Europe, including Austria, France, Germany, Italy, and Luxembourg.
Operating from the brand new EMEA corporate office in Offenbach, you will also be instrumental in the day-to-day accounting for commercial operations. You will play a key role in safeguarding company assets by helping to establish, monitor, and enforce robust internal controls, working closely with the Executive Team, Controller, and Accounting Manager.
This is a hands-on technical accounting position, ideal for a specialist who excels in a detailed, international environment and is committed to the highest standards of financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of European entities.
* Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures with precision and timeliness.
* Prepare and post complex journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
* Perform robust bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis.
* Support the preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with local GAAP (including HGB).
* Assist in the establishment, monitoring, and enforcement of internal controls to protect company assets.
* Liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and analysis.
* Ensure adherence to relevant local tax regulations across various jurisdictions.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the international finance function.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* A degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a recognised professional qualification (e.g.
Bilanzbuchhalter

).
* A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a professional accounting environment.
* Full professional fluency in both German and English (written and spoken) is essential for business communication.
* Demonstrated, hands-on expertise in accounting software and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
* Comprehensive knowledge of the German Commercial Code (HGB) and German tax law.
* Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
