Data Engineer - AI & System Integration (m/f/n)

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our AI team and work on cutting-edge projects that combine data engineering, backend development, and AI-driven automation.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of data, software engineering, and AI, designing systems that integrate large language models (LLMs) and other AI capabilities into business processes.
Your tasks
* You develop and maintain backend services that integrate AI capabilities into various domains (IT support, customer service, AI-powered self-service tools for businesses)
* You design data pipelines and system integrations (APIs, SQL, event-driven architectures) to connect multiple platforms
* You implement AI-powered workflows, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), to enhance automation and decision-making
* You apply basic ML techniques (e.g., clustering) to organize and process data efficiently in an engineering context (no deep ML expertise required)
* You contribute to the full AI stack, from backend engineering to AI service deployment, with a strong engineering approach
* You develop and maintain frontend components (React) where needed to support AI-driven applications
* You ensure scalability, monitoring, and maintainability of deployed AI solutions in a cloud-native environment (AWS, Kubernetes, GitOps)
Your profile
* You hold a university degree in computer science/engineering, mathematics, economics or you have an equivalent working experience of minimum 3 years in data analysis or data engineering role
* You have experience in building and integrating data-driven backend services and are comfortable working with AI-powered solutions
* You are proficient in Python, APIs, PostgreSQL, and cloud environments (AWS), with the ability to connect different systems and deploy AI services
* You understand basic machine learning concepts such as clustering and their practical applications in data engineering
* Excellent interpersonal skills, team spirit, and a high degree of self-motivation
* You are proactive, result-oriented and have strong analytical skills
* You enjoy solving complex problems, learning new technologies, and delivering impactful AI applications
* You understand modern cloud architectures, CI/CD, and containerization to ensure reliable and scalable AI systems
* Highly effective verbal and written communication skills in English. A good knowledge of Luxembourgish, German or French will be considered as an advantage
