We are an efficient and forward-looking social security service provider with more than 3,600 employees. As a regional branch of the German Pension Insurance, we are responsible for the administrative districts of Upper Bavaria, Lower Bavaria, and the Upper Palatinate. At our locations in Landshut and Munich, we serve as a competent and reliable point of contact for approximately 2.9 million insured individuals, employers, and 1 million pensioners.
To strengthen our IT department, which currently comprises approximately 175 employees, we are seeking a
Database Administrator (m/f/d) for Microsoft SQL Server
Your responsibilities:
* Installation, administration, and operation of databases (MS SQL Server) within a shared IT network of multiple pension insurance providers
* Automation, monitoring, and continuous optimization of database environments
* Planning and management of resources required for database operations
* Implementation of regular updates to database software
* Analysis and resolution of complex issues—in collaboration with external service providers as needed
* Creation and optimization of SQL queries for the analysis of large data sets
* Participation in the training of junior staff
Your Profile:
* Successful completion of a university degree in computer science or a comparable field of study
* Alternatively, completed IT training combined with relevant professional experience in database administration or
* Several years of relevant professional experience in the described area of responsibility (if the requirements are met based on several years of relevant professional experience without a university degree, the salary grade will be one level lower)
* Knowledge of database operation and optimization is a plus
* Independent, structured, and solution-oriented approach to work, as well as the ability to act on one’s own initiative
* Analytical thinking and the ability to prioritize
* Customer and service orientation
* Ability to work in a team and strong communication skills
* Confident and professional demeanor
* Willingness to travel for work
* Flexibility for occasional work outside regular working hours
* Motivation for continuous professional development
