Grob Aircraft SE designs and builds some of the world's most advanced training and special-mission aircraft. With more than 3,500 aircraft delivered to air forces, flight schools, and government operators worldwide, our products stand for German engineering excellence, safety, and reliability.
In 2025, Helsing, Europe's leading defense AI company, acquired Grob Aircraft to combine decades of aerospace know-how with cutting-edge AI capabilities. Through our subsidiary CA-1 Europe, we are now developing, testing, and integrating the airframe of the next-generation CA-1 Europe combat aircraft, certified as DOA (Design Organisation Approval) and POA (Production Organisation Approval) holder.
This is your chance to shape the future of European air sovereignty, hands-on, on the aircraft, with the team.
Your Mission
You take ownership of the certification of aircraft systems and powerplant installations under our DOA. From defining the certification strategy and leading compliance demonstration to acting as a key technical interface to EASA and our customers, you ensure that what we design and build meets the highest airworthiness standards. You will have the opportunity to take on a formal AES (Authorised Engineer Signatory) role within our DOA.
What You'll Do
* Lead certification activities for systems (e.g. fuel, hydraulics, ECS, electrical, avionics) and powerplant installations on CS-23 aircraft.
* Define certification strategies, certification programmes and Means of Compliance.
* Review and approve compliance documentation, test plans and test reports.
* Act as the technical interface to EASA, customer authorities and partner organisations.
* Support design changes, STCs, Service Bulletins as well as Major / Minor change classifications.
* Mentor junior certification engineers and help shape the continuous development of our DOA processes.
* Take on AES responsibility within the DOA (Subpart J) once formally appointed.
What You Bring
* Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
* Several years of experience in aircraft certification, ideally in Systems and / or Powerplant.
* Solid knowledge of CS-23 (and/or CS-25, CS-27/29) certification requirements and EASA Part 21 Subpart J processes.
* Hands-on experience with Means of Compliance, compliance checklists, certification reports and authority interaction.
* Existing AES / CVE privileges are a strong plus, otherwise we will fully support your nomination.
* Familiarity with safety assessment methods (ARP4761, SAE ARP4754A) is a welcome bonus.
* A structured, decision-confident working style and the ability to communicate clearly with engineering, management and authorities.
* Fluent English required; German is a plus, and we'll support you in learning it.
