For our Competence Center Cement (CCC) Europe we are looking for a Senior Process Manager Pyro & Grinding (f/m/d).
This position is located in Heidelberg, Germany and you will report to the Team Lead Process Excellence.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE
1. Support & Consulting
Support and consult cement plants in the field of production optimization and process engineering with special focus on grinding (ball mills, VRM, roller press, separators) and pyroprocess equipment (kiln, preheater, clinker cooler, alternative fuels)
Support plants in process troubleshooting and provide process-related and operational techniques for performance and environmental impact improvement
2. Audits, Performance Tests & Process Evaluation
Plan, organize, conduct and lead performance tests and plant audits, including OpEx audits and Heat & Mass Balance evaluations
Evaluate measuring results, operational coefficients, and Key Performance Indicators; provide advice and recommendations to maximize performance
Perform operational performance meetings and contribute to process-related new developments
3. Process & Production Optimization
Develop grinding and pyroprocess improvement initiatives and work on plant-specific performance and cost reduction targets
Identify technical problems and bottlenecks and initiate corrective actions on non-performing equipment
Conduct process improvement studies, including payback, IRR, NPV, and EVA calculations
Ensure production installations conform to norms and regulations regarding ATEX, quality and pollution control
4. Engineering, Design & Technical Analysis
Support process design and review activities, including technology selection for grinding and pyroprocess systems
Prepare and review flow sheets, equipment selection, mass and energy balance calculations, and detailed engineering reviews to meet production objectives and constraints
Perform process-related risk assessments (HAZOP, functional analysis, interlock analysis)
5. Project Work (Investment & Non‑Investment)
Work on investment and non-investment projects, including feasibility and profitability studies (IRR, NPV, EVA)
Lead or participate in commissioning and performance testing of new or upgraded equipment and systems
6. Strategic Support
Support Master Plans and Capex planning procedures
Support acquisition projects through plant evaluations and technical due diligence
7. Knowledge Management & Training
Support and strengthen group-wide knowledge management in the field of production and process engineering
Ensure deployment of best practices and guidelines, including health & safety aspects
Conduct training and knowledge sharing for plant personnel on operational techniques, equipment understanding, troubleshooting, and optimization
YOUR PROFILE
8. Bachelor’s / University degree in engineering
9. Minimum 8–10 years professional experience in the cement industry, preferably in process engineering and/or leading positions or in a corporate organization supporting plants in process/product optimization
10. Technical Knowledge
Very good knowledge of process, production, quality, and environmental aspects in the cement industry
Strong operational knowledge
Good cost awareness in terms of business economics
Knowledge of clinker manufacturing pyro-process, grinding and related equipment
Clinker and cement chemistry knowledge would be an advantage
11. Skills & Competencies
