We are building the most important cybersecurity technology since the invention of the Internet. VISS is creating the foundational hardware security layer that will protect every digital endpoint of the future. We are searching for an exceptional Hardware (+ Embedded) Engineer who can design and master high-speed PCBs (sub-1 GHz domains) and navigate embedded systems with confidence and precision. This role demands flawless execution, deep technical discipline and the drive to build hardware that simply cannot fail. If you want predictable work, comfortable schedules or low-stakes engineering, this is not the job for you.
* Design high-speed PCBs (sub-1 GHz) including signal-integrity-sensitive traces, controlled impedance, differential pairs and clean power distribution
* Develop and integrate embedded hardware modules (MCUs, sensors, cameras, power systems, interfaces)
* Own the entire hardware lifecycle from schematic → layout → bring-up → testing → validation → revision
* Perform board bring-up using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD and low-level debugging
* Optimize system reliability and noise immunity in mixed-signal environments
* Work closely with firmware/embedded engineers to align hardware–software boundaries and debug edge cases
* Create rigorous documentation (BOMs, test records, hardware notes, revision logs)
* Collaborate on manufacturing processes (DFM/DFT), component selection, and vendor communication
* Prototype rapidly and iterate under pressure with tight timelines
* Deep experience in high-speed PCB design (sub-1 GHz signalling, impedance control, return-path mastery)
* Proficiency with professional PCB tools (Altium)
* Solid understanding of embedded systems (MCUs, RTOS basics, bootloaders, interface protocols)
* Hands-on debugging skills with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters and bench equipment
* Knowledge of EMI/EMC fundamentals and how to avoid SI/PI pitfalls
* Experience with common interfaces (I²C, SPI, UART, CSI, USB, HDMI/DP basics, power rails)
* Ability to read, interpret, and implement high-speed application notes and reference designs
* Strong understanding of power electronics fundamentals (DC-DC converters, power budgeting, noise reduction)
* Experience bringing hardware from prototype to production (DFM, sourcing, production testing)
* Extreme ownership mentality — takes responsibility from first sketch to validated hardware
* Thrives under ambiguity and fast iteration, able to solve hard problems without waiting for instructions
* Bonus: experience with optical isolation, non-standard interfaces, secure hardware, tamper-resistant design, military certification
* Opportunity to shape the future of our Digital Civilization
