Job summary:
In this hands-on role, you will focus on designing MVPs that test and validate solutions addressing challenges across the travel and mobility ecosystems. Working closely with our venture teams, developers, and branding experts, you will help bring new concepts to life.
As a UX/UI Design Intern, you will play a vital role in the innovation process — from leveraging user research to designing and testing digital products. You will be responsible for creating and testing forward-thinking concepts that align with Lufthansa Innovation Hub’s mission to accelerate the future of travel.
Your work will directly and indirectly guide how the Lufthansa Innovation Hub identifies opportunities, shapes products, and advances ventures into the testing phase.
You will gain exposure to a diverse range of topics and contribute to our strategic, multi-focal approach. The overarching goal of your role will be to conceptually drive the creation of new digital ventures.
Responsibilities:
* Transform raw ideas into wireframes, sketches, and low-fidelity prototypes
* Create with speed — design, test, and learn quickly to help the team validate ideas efficiently
* Apply user validation insights to shape and build MVPs from scratch
* Collaborate closely with venture developers, software engineers, and graphic designers to bring ideas to life
* Create, test, and iterate on designs based on feedback from stakeholders, venture teams, and end users
* Design user-friendly, responsive layouts optimized for mobile, tablet, and desktop
* Conduct desk and field research in the travel and mobility context to generate actionable insights
* Partner with venture developers and tech teams to ideate and sketch concepts for new products and ventures
* Contribute to scalable design systems in collaboration with developers for consistent and efficient implementation (nice to have)
Profile:
* Degree in Design (UX or Interaction design preferred), Industrial design, product design, Graphic design qualification (Or potentially some product e.g developer)
* First relevant work experiences in UX/UI design, Product design
* Proficiency in human centred design process
* Extensive creative and critical thinking capability
* Research experience: Field and desk, quantitative and qualitative
* Proficiency in Figma
* Strong ability to visually communicate design concepts
* Skilled at shaping and creating new products and features, driven by UX research insights and close team collaboration
* Proficient in building prototypes, testing with end users, and iterating to ensure optimal user experience
* Capable of collaborating on, developing, and implementing product brand guidelines to maintain a cohesive design language
* Experienced in evaluating existing products, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and designing new features
* Solid understanding of layout principles, typography, visual hierarchy, and effective use of color
* Ability to synthesize research into concrete recommendations and communicate them to relevant audiences
