The Global Key Account Manager – Food and Beverage will be part of Strategic Key Accounts team (Food and Beverage) and will focus on expanding business cooperation with assigned customers. This role will serve as the primary interface for the organization and act as a liaison, ensuring all requirements are met in a timely manner. This person will also be responsible for conducting regular business review and strategy meetings with customer’s management group to understand their needs and link to the organization’s product/service strategies. An outstanding Global Key Account Manager – Food and Beverage will be someone whose customer-oriented approach, strong influential skills and strategic thinking will drive sustainable growth and further strengthen established partnerships.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Acting as a primary contact for assigned strategic accounts, which includes traveling to customer corporate locations to solidify relationships with key decision makers, determining customer needs, and learning application and business requirements
2. Establishing, cultivating, and leveraging customer relationships at a branch and corporate level to grow the business (this role is a strong mix of hunting and growing the relationship)
3. Conducting market and customer research, staying in frequent contact with customers by email or phone, business travel to customers when needed, attending top industry trade shows and driving other prospecting activities
4. Lead sales presentations, annual pricing negotiations, business reviews and product proposals, and other communications designed to drive sales
5. Act as a customer advocate within internal organizations and cross-functional teams on pre- and post-sale matters including but not limited to Engineering, Product Management, Marketing and Operations
6. Closely work with Donaldson territory sales managers to identify, develop and close new sales opportunities within defined strategies
7. Ensure alignment of agreed commercial teams with local Sales teams (pricing, regular follow up on key business opportunities)
TRAVEL: Up to 30% (mostly within EMEA)
Minimum Qualifications:
8. 5+ years of sales experience
9. Previous Account management or Business Development experience
10. Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications:
11. Master’s degree or equivalent through experience
12. Previous sales experience in the Food and Beverage industry is a strong plus
13. Strong time management skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
14. Customer service focused, including the ability to create an atmosphere that encourages an open dialogue about the internal and external customer's needs
15. Detail oriented, strong analytical abilities, with excellent organizational skills
16. Excellent listening, negotiation, business professional presentation and collaboration skills
17. Proficiency in Microsoft CRM software, Microsoft office suite with an emphasis on Excel
18. Languages: English mandatory, proficiency in additional languages is a plus
