Catalent’s Pharma and Consumer Health segment is a fast-growing business within Catalent Pharma Solutions focused on providing innovative technologies and solutions to help patients and consumers receive better treatments and products.

The business includes Softgel, Liquid Filled Hard Shell, Liquid in Bottle, a wide range of Solid Dose technologies, Zydis ODT and products that include Rx, Gx, OTC, VMS and Animal Health products.

Manufacturing facilities that are supported by the EMEA & APAC Commercial Operations organization include 6 facilities including Beinheim (France), Schorndorf (Germany), Eberbach (Germany), Nottingham (UK), Aprilia (Italy) and Kakegawa (Japan).

Working for Catalent PCH is an opportunity to join a diverse and experienced team helping to improve future patient outcomes by working on prescription products that are designed to treat cancer, various autoimmune, fibrotic and blood disorders, HIV, diabetes, heart and lung diseases as well as Alzheimer’s along with some of the leading Consumer products in world including pain therapies, cough and cold and other such essential Vitamins in patient friendly dosage forms.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for leading the contracting activities for PCH EMEA. The position serves as a strategic business partner to Catalent’s Business Development, Site Operations and Legal teams and will have a lead role in the development and execution of contracts with new and existing customers, ensuring that Catalent has excellent agreements in place across the PCH portfolio with business terms that represent both Catalent’s and our customer’s interests.

Responsibilities include overseeing the preparation of contractual documents, negotiating and interpreting customer contracts in accordance with company policies and legal requirements, providing guidance on complex agreements and deal structures, interacting with internal and external legal counsel in support of routine legal operations, maintaining an awareness of company business objectives and priorities and ensuring those are reflected in customer negotiations, analyzing and mitigating risk, maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities:

1. Leads the negotiation of complex, high-value contracts in partnership with Business Development, Legal, PCH sites and other functional leads to achieve timely deal closure and growth expectations.
2. Responsible for tracking all contracts being negotiated for PCH.
3. Mitigates risk through understanding of proposed terms and conditions and develops recommendations for contract language to meet business needs.
4. Identify and communicate risk areas throughout the negotiation contract lifecycle and the renewal process. Escalate issues appropriately.
5. Drive compliance with Legal, organizational and departmental policies and procedures with adherence to processes and business rules.
6. Provides coaching and mentoring to others on the team and cross-functionally, including BD team members that are leading other contract negotiations.
7. Provide ad-hoc support in negotiating complex pricing arrangements and resolving disputes when escalated, including drafting and formalizing resolution agreements such as settlements.
8. Contribute to the continuous enhancement of customer satisfaction.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

10. Bachelor’s or MSc degree.
11. 7+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or food manufacturing, with experience in commercial operations, business management and/or business development
12. Experience negotiating complex agreements with senior executive-level stakeholders or decision-makers is required
13. Relevant industry knowledge of drug product development and/or consumer product development, analytical research and development, project scale-up, product manufacturing, quality, validations, and regulatory
14. Analytical, financial skills, business acumen
15. Superior customer services skills and professional demeanor
16. Proficient in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
17. Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
18. Financial acumens.
19. Fluent in English
20. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
21. Self-motivated, collaborative, action oriented.
22. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.

Travel Requirements:

23. Some travel may be required (up to 20%).
