What Makes This Role Exciting for Me: 50Hertz has long been a dedicated advocate for the energy transition. Within our product organization, we are developing the Next Generation Control Center Ecosystem (MCCS – Modular Control Center System) to meet the demands of digitalization in the energy sector. As part of the Engineering Chapter, I work directly on the maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of the cloud infrastructure. This environment offers me the opportunity to continuously expand my expertise through close collaboration with specialized professionals.
Your Responsibilities
* Administration: Provisioning, configuring, and managing cloud resources on platforms like Azure or Google Cloud, ensuring best practices for scalability, redundancy, and security.
* Monitoring and Maintenance: Implementing monitoring tools to track cloud system performance and conducting regular maintenance and upgrades to ensure system stability.
* Automation: Developing and maintaining automation scripts to optimize operations and reduce manual interventions.
* Security and Compliance: Implementing security measures to protect cloud environments and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
* Incident Management: Resolving incidents related to cloud services (including on-call duties), performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
* Disaster Recovery and Backup: Planning and implementing backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
Your Skills
* Degree in (Business) Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable field,
* At least 3 years of proven experience in cloud operations, preferably with major cloud providers (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud),
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices,
* Proven experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes),
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, or ARM Templates,
* Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar,
* Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell),
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills,
* Languages: German and English (at least B2 level).
