Your main duties will be: You will actively support shaping the development and implementation of a new certification system for sustainable peat substitutes that are used in potting soils and professional growing media as an alternative to peat (HORTICERT) You will manage the web maintenance as well as communication and public relations of HORTICERT, especially on LinkedIn You will work on topics related to sustainability certificatio n including administrative tasks, further development of sustainability requirements, supply chain traceability, alignment with legal requirements, quality management and integrity program You will support the application of new digital tools for audit processes You will support customized greenhouse gas calculations for growing media supply chains applying the new HORTICERT GHG methodology and support its development You will perform data research, analysis and evaluations for specific customer requests and the preparation of reports and market studies You will support another project with assessing sustainability risks of new growing media and creating preliminary greenhouse gas calculations. Your profile Currently pursuing a degree in agricultural science, organic agriculture, agricultural economics, environmental engineering, natural resource management, natural sciences, life sciences, sustainable management, or other related fields You have weekly availability for 15-20 hours for at least 1 year You are able to come to our head offices in Cologne at least two times per week regularly Additional experience in the following areas of advantage: sustainability certification, policy consulting, GHG/carbon footprint calculation, stakeholder management Excellent communication skills in German and English, both written and spoken (at least C1) Good presentation skills as well as the ability to explain complex issues in simple terms and to prepare professional presentations according to target group. High degree of initiative and commitment combined with an independent working style and pragmatic, hands-on attitude Very good computer and MS Office skills, IT proficiency is a benefit Why us?
