Position Summary
As an Industrial Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing systems and processes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and support high-quality production. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and logistics to implement lean manufacturing practices and drive continuous improvement across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyze and improve production workflows, layouts, and material handling systems
* Lead industrialization of new processes and product launches
* Implement and support lean manufacturing initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping)
* Identify cost-saving opportunities through time studies, line balancing, and process optimization
* Develop standard operating procedures and work instructions
* Support capital investment projects including equipment specification and justification
* Work closely with production and maintenance teams to resolve bottlenecks and inefficiencies
* Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
* 3+ years of experience in an industrial engineering role, preferably within a Tier 1 automotive environment
* Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement tools
* Proficiency in production planning tools, AutoCAD, and MS Office
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong communication and team collaboration abilities
* Fluent in English & German
