As a Senior Hardware Development Engineer in the automotive industry, you will assume technical responsibility for the development of innovative and safety-critical electronic systems. You will be responsible for the entire hardware development lifecycle – from embedded electronic control units (ECUs) to high-voltage applications – ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and development standards. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering products with functional safety requirements up to ASIL C.

Your tasks
10. Concept and design: Design and development of innovative automotive hardware solutions, from embedded systems to high-voltage applications and power electronics.
11. Architecture and specification: Definition of hardware architectures and electronic circuit concepts taking into account cost, quality, performance and safety requirements, as well as analysis and derivation of hardware requirements from system specifications.
12. Calculation and simulation: Performing circuit calculations, simulations and design reviews, as well as selecting and approving electronic components.
13. Safety and quality standards: Ensuring functional safety according to ISO 26262 (up to ASIL C) and consistent integration of EMC requirements throughout the entire development process.
14. Interface function: Close, interdisciplinary collaboration with software development, system engineering and manufacturing, as well as technical coordination with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Your profile
15. Education: Successfully completed studies (Bachelor/Master) in electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics or a comparable field.
16. Professional experience: More than 8 years of solid professional experience in hardware development within the automotive industry, ideally with a focus on electronic control units (ECUs), battery management systems (BMS) or e-mobility.
17. Technical expertise: In-depth know-how in analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems and automotive communication interfaces (e.g. CAN, LIN).
18. Standards and tools: Practical experience with functional safety (ISO 26262 to ASIL C), ASPICE-compliant development processes and sound knowledge in the field of EMC-compliant design, ideally supplemented by knowledge of FMEA/FMEDA.
19. Soft Skills & Languages: Strong analytical skills, a structured and solution-oriented way of working, and fluent communication skills in German and English.
