Job Description:
As a Medical Excellence Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring local medical excellence and operations activities comply with AbbVie processes, codes of business conduct, ethics, regulatory requirements, and local laws. This includes proactively contributing to and implementing global strategies in close cross-functional collaboration, supporting best-in-class medical infield team excellence.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing processes, tools, and materials to drive medical excellence. Additionally, you will lead digital transformation projects, such as AbbVie's internet presence, multi- and omnichannel communication, and expertise building for the medical infield team.
Key responsibilities include monitoring current market trends and deriving actionable recommendations, overseeing internal medical communication initiatives with Corporate Communication, BTS, CEX, and Marketing teams, and leading initiatives to enhance excellence of field medical teams in collaboration with CEX, BTS, and medical training managers.
Furthermore, you will identify and pursue external project opportunities beyond the pharmaceutical industry, partner with subject matter experts across all therapeutic areas to support scientific communication priorities, and advise Affiliate Medical Affairs on medical communication topics.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong project planning and management experience, including successful business initiative implementation
2-4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry (Medical Affairs roles e.g., Medical Manager/Advisor, MSL) with proven expertise in at least one therapeutic area
Experience in infield teamwork or matrix organizations, cross-functional collaboration
Experience in scientific/medical communication projects (agency background is a plus)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen sense of emerging communication trends
Strong planning, organizational, and strategic abilities with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset
Quick comprehension of complex topics with skill in communicating clearly to different audiences
