Main tasks
As a clinician scientist at one of Europe's leading university hospitals, you will have the opportunity to independently pursue a research project in the field of ‘Translational Neuroimmunology’ and thus lay the foundation for a successful career in academic medicine.
The Institute of Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis (INIMS, ) focuses on the immunological dysregulation (Med. 2021 Mar 12;2(3):296-312.e8.), the neurobiological consequences (Cell. 2025 Aug 21;188(17):4567-4585.e32.) and personalized treatment (Med. 2024 Jun 14;5(6):550-558.e2.) of neuroinflammatory diseases such as multiple sclerosis, as well as with rehabilitation and clinical care (Mult Scler. 2025 Sep;31(10):1231-1242.). The working language in the laboratories is English; in the clinical care unit German.
Your tasks:
* Working on a research project in the field of translational neuroimmunology
* Development of independent research strategies and their realisation
This position is initially limited to three years as part of a third-party funded project and can also be filled by part-time staff. The position is to be filled immediately.
Your Profile
* Completed scientific university degree in medicine and licence to practise medicine as well as a doctorate
* Prerequisite: Knowledge in the field of neurobiology, immunology or neuroimmunology; documentation of scientific achievements through publications (ideally including first authorships)
* Advantageous: ‘Postdoc’ time at a neurobiological or immunological research institution; bioinformatics skills; participation in clinical trials, epidemiological knowledge
* Very good written and spoken English, proficient in MS Office
* Strong scientific interest in molecular and cell biological questions or in clinical and rehabilitative studies in the field of translational neuroimmunology
* Ability to work in a team and to work purposefully on projects
