Job Description:
Do you have in-depth knowledge of hardware engineering, and do you want to use your experience in an international organization developing world-class Doppler Radars?
At Weibel, you will join a family-owned company that develops and produces state-of-the-art radar systems. We offer a great opportunity to use your technical skills in an innovative environment where our goal is to push the performance of radars to the limit. We have a full-scale in-house production facility that allows us to explore new solutions in close collaboration with our production team without compromising quality. Our biggest asset is our talented employees, and we believe that fostering open and curious discussions helps us reach the best solutions.
About the position
As our new colleague, you will play a central role in developing subsystem architectures, including system-level documentation. You will act as a link between our systems engineering team and hardware design engineers to ensure compliance with overall system requirements and the desired subsystem functionality.
Responsibilities include:
* Development of subsystem architectures, including subsystem breakdowns and evaluation of architectural and conceptual implementation options for Tx and Rx signal chains.
* Coordinating technical solutions with systems engineers, design engineers, manufacturing representatives, etc., while assessing and managing technical risks.
* Defining requirements for subsystem elements, such as high-resolution ADC modules and FPGA-based controllers, ensuring compliance with standards.
* Reviewing and approving subsystem designs to support the design process.
* Roadmapping and ensuring developed solutions align with platform roadmaps for future reuse.
* Collaborating with customers on requirements and design reviews.
* Executing integration tests and verification at the subsystem level in modern lab facilities.
About you
You thrive in a dynamic, project-driven environment, working independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. You embrace continuous learning and work efficiently in fast-paced settings, managing multiple R&D activities, some requiring immediate focus and others structured into project plans.
Your CV should include:
* A university degree in electrical engineering, physics, or similar, preferably with a specialization in digital hardware engineering for RF/MW applications.
* An analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex challenges while maintaining a holistic overview.
* Experience in designing digital and/or mixed-signal circuitry from concept through schematics to layout and verification.
* Mathematical characterization and modeling of hardware systems, including scenario simulations.
* Understanding of regulatory requirements for radio, safety, and EMC.
* Experience with systems or concept engineering methodologies such as MBSE, SysML, UML, and related tools is advantageous.
