We are looking for a Senior Associate to join a well-established mid-market investment platform in Munich. This position is ideal for an investor or transaction professional who wants meaningful responsibility, strong exposure to decision-makers and the chance to work on both new deals and portfolio value creation.
The opportunity
The successful candidate will join a team focused on backing growth businesses across the German-speaking mid-market. The platform has been active since 2007, has invested in more than 40 businesses, completed over 140 add-on acquisitions and helped create around 6,000 new jobs across its portfolio. Its active portfolio companies currently employ close to 11,000 people, which gives real scale to the opportunity.
The investment model combines disciplined transaction execution with hands-on support for portfolio companies. With more than €3 billion committed across five funds, the platform offers exposure to a sizeable and proven investment environment while still maintaining the pace and visibility of a lean team.
Responsibilities
* Support transactions from first review through to execution, including screening, financial analysis, valuation, due diligence coordination and preparation of investment materials.
* Build clear views on sectors, market dynamics, business quality and investment risks.
* Prepare high-quality committee papers, presentations and decision documents for senior stakeholders.
* Work alongside portfolio leadership on growth initiatives, strategic projects, performance tracking and broader value-creation plans.
* Take ownership of workstreams while contributing to a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
Candidate profile
* Several years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, M&A, transaction services, leveraged finance or strategy consulting.
* Excellent financial modelling and valuation skills, supported by strong commercial judgment.
* A track record of managing analytical workstreams with accuracy, pace and professionalism.
* A genuine interest in mid-market investing and in working closely with businesses after acquisition, not only at deal stage.
* Strong communication skills and the confidence to interact with senior internal and external stakeholders.
* Fluent German and English.
