In the cellular modem development the RF system is developed, characterised and optimised before it gets integrated into different kind of products. As an RF system validation engineer you have a wide range of responsibilities during the complete development cycle. This starts by defining the test scope, planning and developing the tests cases which are then used to characterise and optimise the RF system. You will own regression tests that monitor the achieved performance during the entire development and productization phase. Your competence and dedication is required to solve very tricky functional and performance failures reported from the product testing and is needed all the way until the launch of the product. Your collaboration skills will enable you to overcome technical challenges which need to be resolved by different teams located in various locations across the world. In depth knowledge of RF measurement techniques and expertly familiar with the standard lab based test equipment. e.g. spectrum analysers and VNAs etc. Experienced with the handling of innovative RF measurement instruments and their automation. e.g. Dedicated testers for LTE or 5G Excellent understanding of analog and digital RF transceiver implementations, along with the key performance indicators of an Tx system. e.g. ACLR, EVM. Working knowledge of 3GPP standards with focus on RF requirements and particularly those related to the Tx or Uplink. Detailed understanding of how the Tx indicators and the 3GPP specification impacts system level performance. Strong programming skills with languages such as Python, Matlab, C/C++ is an advantage and an expert in creating test automation scripts to run in lab and an automated regression environment Proven multi-functional collaboration experience involving multiple teams and subject areas. Passionate about the utilisation of AI/ML in your daily activities Team spirit, excellent communication skills and the desire to accept diverse challenges are essential English language fluency is required. Familiar with RF fundamentals & RF measurement techniques. Debugging experience in transceiver/modem systems. Programming skills in Python and familiar with versioning tooling. Good knowledge of cellular 3GPP (2G/3G/4G/5G) standards with focus on RF aspects. Fundamentals in AI/ML. Master´s degree or PhD in Electrical/Hardware Engineering or Computer Science with RF background, or proven industrial experience/degree equivalent.
